Peer Mentoring

Coordinating the peer mentoring program in the School of Psychology at UNSW.

Peer Mentoring Coordinator
School of Psychology, UNSW Sydney
August 2014 - September 2016

Responsibilities and Achievements

The Peer Mentoring Coordinators work in pairs to organise the School of Psychology’s undergraduate peer mentoring program. Key responsibilities included recruitment, training and support of volunteer third year undergraduate mentors for first year students.

In this role, I also piloted and drove the launch of a new program that provided Psychology Honours students with PhD student mentors. We identified the Honours cohort as a particularly vulnerable student group due to the steep learning curve, short time period available and competitive environment. In 2019, our rationale, program outline and evaluation results were published in Student Success as a practice report.
