Experimental Design

A decade of experience in behavioural neuroscience research.

My background spans psychology, pharmacology and neuroscience, so I design experiments with appropriate controls and statistical power.

Designing for Reproducibility

In designing an experiment, my aim is to perform a study that will stand the test of time. This means paying attention to classical principles of experimental design like:

  • Appropriate control groups
  • Reducing variability and bias
  • Appropriate sample sizing
  • A sensible analysis plan

I am also interested in approaches that improve the reproducibility of my work, such as preregistration of study protocols and analysis approaches.
